Coffin fits

For at least 10 years I have had a thing called a 'Booster' fitted to my mouthpiece. This is supposed to make the mouthpiece much more solid and help you get higher notes??? To be honest I don't think it did, but I suddenly realised I could not do without it. Because I have now changed from a large bore instrument to a medium bore, the booster would not fit my new, smaller mouthpiece. With a bit of cunning, I found an old rubber washer at work. This was off a Daimler Hearse, and with a bit of cutting and reshaping it has made the booster smaller!!! and hey presto now fits the new mouthpiece. I wonder how many people in the world are playing on a Daimler Mouthpiece???
