A touch of the nostalgia's today. Went into town and there were Army displays in the Town Centre. A few Military Bands that had young kids(?) and older Males and Females. all dressed in Uniform. However, not one Trombone in sight? I had to hold myself back from asking the Bandmaster if he had any spare instruments in his van? Actually I wish I had now, as it was a chance lost. Saw one of my old Regiment and had a chat with him. Seems that now it is possible to serve until you drop dead of old age. Gone are the days of 22 years service and out in your mid 40s. Ah well there are some things I do miss, but many more I don't .
